The Big Garden Birdwatch is Back
Now that Christmas and the New Year have been and gone, we are busy planning what is going to be happening in 2020.
Churchfield’s first event of the year will be to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch on Sunday 26th January from 10.00am to 12.00.
There is no doubt that the number and variety of bird species using Churchfield has increased over the last few years. We have Blackbirds, Blue tits, Great tits, Long-tailed tits and Wrens all breeding around the field. We have Bullfinches (like the one in the poster), Jays, Greenfinches, Song thrushes, and Woodpeckers regularly visiting; and that’s just to name a few.
Please come along and get involved with this remarkable event. You don’t need to be an expert on birds or other wildlife as plenty of guidance will be available from our own knowledgeable volunteers, who will also provide lots of guidance material and even binoculars and a spotting scope if you do not have your own. Children are welcome but they must be accompanied by an adult.
